Dr Duncan Gooch lives and works as a GP in Long Eaton, Erewash. He undertook his training in Nottingham and Derby and is familiar with the needs of the local population. Duncan has an interest in medical education acting as a trainer to Registrars and Undergraduates. His clinical interests include minor surgery, joint injections but his particular interest is for delivering person-centered care. In addition to his work as a GP he is Chair of Erewash Health and works locally with fellow GPs and provider organisations. Duncan’s role as Chair of Erewash MCP means that he provides clinical input to this national programme of new models of care.
Dr Gail Walton joined Littlewick Medical Centre in 1988 and holds the position of Senior Partner, she has also recently become a Fellow of the Royal College of GPs. Gail’s clinical interests lie in Women’s' Health and substance misuse (having been a GPSI for 8 years). Gail is a locality lead for GP appraisal, and has an active interest in mentoring, recently joining the RCGP team supporting practices in special measures. Gail is particularly interested in working at the interface between the self-employed small business world of general practice and the wider NHS, so that all parties - particularly patients - get the best outcomes.
Dr Andy Jordan has been a GP principal at the Moir Medical Centre in Long Eaton since 2000. Andy is a GP trainer and is also engaged with undergraduate teaching at the University of Nottingham. Alongside his practice roles, he has an interest in clinical research and works with the East Midlands Clinical Research Network of the National Institute for Health Research. Andy has also been a member of Derby and Derbyshire LMC since 2010. In what little spare time Andy has, he presents two radio shows each week on community radio and plays the bass guitar appallingly badly (his words!).
Dr Neerunjun Jootun has been a GP principal in Ilkeston since 1999 and is the founder of Erewash Health. He has a special clinical interest in Prostate Cancer Andrology and men's health. Neerunjun has made a significant contribution within Erewash developing and initiating multiple programmes including the GP open access MRI pathway at Ilkeston Community Hospital, a CCG wide Atrial Fibrillation screening programme and the development of a pilot Hub service to improve access to primary care and to look at 7 day working.
Joanne Deering joined Dr Purnell’s practice as Practice Manager in March 2010. She has many years of experience working within the NHS setting, starting as a receptionist and later becoming manager of the local out of hours GP service. In 2004 she started work at the local PCT working with the long term conditions team before becoming locality manager for both primary care support and practice based commissioning. Interests include foreign travel and being involved in a charity which has provided medical support in the Gambia.
